.EU domain authorization code is required when transferring domain name to another registrar or holder. The authorization code includes a total of 16 letters and digits separated by dashes, in the following format: YYYY-AAAA-BBBB-CCCC.
There are three ways to obtain an authorization code:
1. To request an authorization code for a domain registered through Zone on our website choose “My Zone” and log in using your ZoneID account information. Then on the service overview page under “Domains” choose “Manage domain” and click on the domain name, whose authorization code you wish to obtain. Then press “EPP authorization code” and the code will be sent to the email of the registrant. Please make sure that the registrant’s email address is fully functioning.
NB! The contact information of the domain name holder, that was registered through Zone, is shown under “My domains” by clicking “contact” next to the domain name. Domain contact information is also indicated in the WHOIS database.
2. Alternatively, the name transfer authorization code can be obtained via the end-user extranet. For more information click here.
3. Should you be unable to acquire an authorization code via two of the abovementioned ways, you may submit a formal request to EURid for an emergency authorization code.
ATTENTION! An authorization code is valid for 40 days from the date of issue. Every time the new code is requested, previous one becomes invalid. Thus, new code remains valid for 40 days. Authentication code request submitted within 24 hours from the moment of the first request, will be responded with the same code. The authorization code becomes invalid immediately after use.
