Verification of .EU Domain Registration Data – What It Means and What to Do If You Receive a Message from EURID

What is registration data verification?

When registering a .EU domain, it’s essential that the information provided (such as name, address, email, etc.) is accurate and up to date. EURID – the official registry for .EU domains, appointed by the European Union – may conduct random checks (verifications) to ensure that registration data meets their requirements.

This process is part of EURID’s official Registration Data Verification Policy and stems from the need to maintain a reliable and trustworthy registry.

What is EURID’s role and what does Zone Media do?

EURID is the official registry for the .EU top-level domain. It manages the infrastructure and enforces compliance with registration requirements, including data accuracy.

Zone Media OÜ is an accredited registrar for .EU domains. This means you can register, renew, and manage your .EU domains through us. We collect and submit your registration data to EURID according to their requirements.

If EURID decides to initiate a verification, they will contact the domain holder directly — that means you.

What does the verification email from EURID look like?

If your domain is selected for verification, you may receive an email that looks like this:

Dear domain name holder,

This email was sent to you by EURid, the registry for the .eu, .ею and .ευ top-level domains.

In a previous message, you were asked to review and confirm the registration data for your domain name yourdomain.eu, registered through Zone Media OÜ:

If you need to correct your registration data, please contact your registrar, Zone Media OÜ, via https://www.zone.ee.

Since you have not completed the required steps on the My.eu platform https://eurid.eu/en/my-eu, your domain has been suspended as of YYYY-MM-DD.

Please log in to the My .eu platform and follow the instructions to validate your registration data.

If you do not confirm your data by the deadline:

  • Your domain will remain suspended and eventually be revoked

  • You will not be able to register or manage any new .EU domains

Sincerely,
EURid vzw
