Expiration of .COM, .NET, .ORG, etc. domains

When a domain expires, the website and email will stop working and a 29 day grace period will start. During this period, the domain can be renewed in My Zone control panel at the normal price (as described in the price list) and after that renewal (restore) price is risen by central registry. Exact price is shown after domain has reached redemption period.

At the end of the grace period, the domain will either:

  • RGP (Redemption Grace Period) – which lasts from 30 to 42 days, followed by a Pending delete period of 5 days.
Once in Pending Delete status, the domain cannot be reactivated and once it expires, the domain is released.

or

  • ERGP (Extended Redemption Grace Period) – which can last up to 90 days after the grace period expires. This in turn is followed by a Pending Delete status, i.e. a period of 5 days before the domain is deleted.
In Pending Delete status, the domain can no longer be restored and once it ends, the domain will become available for registration.

If the Grace period has ended and you wish to continue using the domain, then you need to contact our customer support at info[@]zone.ee.
We will directly contact the central registry and find out if it is possible to renew the domain and under what conditions.

* Upon renewal, the expired domain will become operational again within 24 hours.
